Where it goes
Rated walls where the UL listing calls for mineral wool rather than fiberglass. Head-of-wall joints at the deck. The gap between a floor slab and a curtain wall — perimeter fire containment, which is a life-safety detail an inspector will open up to look at. It also happens to be excellent sound insulation and it does not mind getting damp.

Only if the listing allows it. Many do. Some require mineral wool specifically. Read the UL number.
Do you stock the firestop sealant that goes with it?+
