The seismic component we stock is the ACM7 clip — it goes over the bulb of the grid and sits behind the wall angle. On our jobs that is what gets used, and it is on the shelf.
If your drawings call for a full seismic kit — bracing wire, compression struts, oversized trim, specific perimeter attachment — call before you order. In our experience those specs are often written by an architect working on one coast or the other and carried onto a Colorado job unchanged. Sometimes the jurisdiction genuinely wants it and we will get it. Often the architect will approve a substitution once somebody asks. Either way it is a phone call before the grid ships, not a problem after.
Your engineer and your building department decide what the assembly needs. We are just the ones who have made the call before.
NRC is how much sound the tile absorbs in the room. CAC is how much it stops from carrying into the next room. Open offices usually want NRC. Anything with a demising wall that stops at the grid wants CAC. Most complaints after a job are one of these two being specified wrong.
