Brad began his career in the building materials business in the rapidly expanding market of Austin, Texas, working for a fast-growing, family-owned company. As an outside salesman, Brad was responsible for selling lumber, windows and doors, and millwork—an environment that proved ideal for learning the art of selling.
After about ten years, Brad moved his young family to the city of New Braunfels, a small town just north of San Antonio. Brad, his wife Robin, his ballerina daughter Lindsey, and his outdoor‑loving son Taylor quickly settled into life there. New Braunfels, a charming tourist town with a river running through it, was experiencing fast growth, and so was Brad’s company. New opportunities followed: Brad managed a stand‑alone window division in San Antonio, later moving it back to New Braunfels and combining it with the door and millwork operations.
When a large national building material company acquired the business, Brad was introduced to new methods of measuring productivity, tracking and improving sales and margins, analyzing costs, increasing profitability, and eliminating inefficiencies to ensure on‑time, complete deliveries. Following the retirement of the location manager, Brad took over the lumberyard and ran the entire location.
Brad and his wife moved to Durango about eight years ago, having vacationed in Colorado every August to escape the intense Texas heat. Durango felt familiar—another small tourist town with a river running through it. Since relocating, Brad has worked for the largest building materials supplier in the country, managing a lumberyard in Cortez along with a truss plant there and a small plant in Grand Junction. Brad supported the construction of a new, larger, more automated plant in Grand Junction, expanding the company’s market share potential.
Since joining the Outwest Building Supply team, Brad has been focused on getting the new location up and running. Starting from an empty site, the goal is to become the best supplier in town. Brad finds it incredibly exciting to help grow the company in this area and is currently building a talented team dedicated to providing great products and exceptional service.
In his spare time, Brad enjoys golfing, fishing, and hiking in the mountains. Brad’s family is a strong presence in his life: his daughter, son‑in‑law, and three of his grandchildren live locally, and Brad is active in their church, where his son‑in‑law serves as lead pastor. Brad’s son, along with his wife and four more grandchildren, lives in the small town of Dallas, Georgia.
